Directing: The Turku Diva, 2011

A short film insert made for the Thalia Gala 2011, the Finnish theatre awards ceremony. The Turku Diva also made a live appearance during the event, which was broadcast on prime-time television.

The diva puppet was made and performed by puppetry students of the Turku Arts Academy, and the film was directed and edited by myself. The producers asked for no special lighting or make-up – just a glimpse into the puppet(eer)’s studio.

This version is without music as the accompaniment was played live during the event.
