Below is a list of available presentations.  Talks may also be requested on a theme of your choice and can be accompanied by a masterclass or workshop.

WHAT THE PUPPET TEACHES THE ACTOR

First presented during the How to act conference (2007), organised by the Central School of Speech & Drama. The talk has since been published as an article in the book Theatre Materials, edited by Eleanor Margolies, and in the Spanish theatre journal Revista Galego de Teatro (No.65, winter 2010).

LISTENING TO THE MATERIAL

A lecture accompanied by film about devising theatre with puppets, objects and materials.  First presented during the Theatre Materials conference (2008), organised by the Central School of Speech & Drama, and subsequently at the Tallinn Treff festival, Estonia (2009), the 7+7 Solos festival in Lapland (2010), and at the Festival of Puppet Theatre of the Black Sea Countries in Sochi, Russia (2011).

WHAT MAKES PUPPETS, OBJECTS & MATERIALS INTERESTING FOR ACTORS,DANCERS AND SCENOGRAPHERS

A talk, accompanied by film, commissioned by the Tallinn Treff festival 2010, Estonia. Subsquently presented at the Turku Academy of the Arts for circus, acting, dance and puppetry students.

GROUP MANIPULATION

A talk accompanied by film and Q&A session requested by the TIP-Connection, international puppetry association, Turku, Finland (2011). The theme was how to direct and perform puppets manipulated by three or more operators.

 WHO DO WE SEE? PUPPET OR PUPPETEER?

A talk and workshop about the dramatic and dramaturgical possibilites of the visible puppeteer. Presented at the puppet centre Poiju in Helsinki, Finland (2012).

PUPPET & OBJECT: MEDIUM & MEDIATOR

Presentation and hands-on workshop during the MIMO seminar, Finland (2011), a conference about social applications of the arts and working with alienated youth.

PALANTINE WORKSHOP

A demonstration of the methods I use to introduce and develop puppetry skills with students in higher education, presented during the Palantine Workshop on Teaching Puppetry in Higher Education, organised by Royal Holloway, University of London (2006).

FINNISH PUPPETRY ON THE WORLD MAP

A talk given during the Finnish UNIMA annual meeting, Helsinki, (2011).
